Abu Dhabi Art to host over 100 galleries

The fair will introduce three new focus sectors in its 16th edition this November

Abu Dhabi Art returns for its 16th edition from 20 to 24 November 2024 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, featuring 102 galleries from 31 countries.

This year’s event promises the largest gathering to date, offering an eclectic mix of modern and contemporary art with unique thematic showcases.

The fair will introduce three new focus sectors. Something Bold, Something New, curated by Myrna Ayad, will highlight modern artists from the Middle East and North Africa, bringing overdue recognition to seminal artists from Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.

Meanwhile, The Collectors Salon, curated by Roxane Zand, debuts with rare historical manuscripts, artefacts, and rare books, showcasing items like a 7th-century Qur’an manuscript and a unique typescript of Le Petit Prince.

Finally, Silk Road: Drifting Identities, curated by Elvira Eevr Djaltchinova-Malets, will spotlight Central Asian and Caucasian artists exploring themes of cultural heritage and identity.

Returning exhibitors include renowned galleries such as GALLERIA CONTINUA and Perrotin, while first-time participants in the Special Projects Sector include Goodman Gallery and Galleria Franco Noero.

In the expanding Emerge section, nine galleries will offer works under USD3,000, providing a platform for new collectors.

As Dyala Nusseibeh, Director of Abu Dhabi Art, puts it, “2024 is a year of firsts, with more than 100 galleries marking this as our biggest edition yet. We invite everyone to explore this unparalleled art experience in Abu Dhabi this November.”
