A room with a view? The Pods that have been taking the Dubai dining scene by storm

Great food and great vistas in your own little bubble.

Having only been open for two months, The Pods are already a huge hit with residents and tourists. A restaurant destination in a unique setting, these individual private pods have made a fun and unique addition to Dubai’s stellar dining scene.

Following the success of its London counterpart, this British-owned eatery offers an outdoor feel in air-conditioned luxury. It is the only one of its kind in the GCC and is the perfect setting for a private dinner, business lunch, or a celebration with friends and family.

The 23 transparent dining “bubbles” are available in three sizes which can seat up to six, eight and 14 people. Set among beautiful botanical greenery, they offer an instagrammable view of Dubai Marina and JBR beach. Each pod has luxurious velvet seating, leafy jungle-inspired printed cushions, and indoor plants that pair beautifully with the outside scenery.

Once inside, you can make yourself at home; you can play your own music by connecting to the Bluetooth speaker, have full control of your own AC and lighting, plus a personal buzzer to contact the service team. Popular among working professionals, there are plugs under each table for instant connection and the rooms offer complete privacy.

The Pods pride themselves on their knowledgeable staff and excellent service (just press your button!) with a menu to match. Their top-notch cuisine is a fusion of Pan-Asian, Chinese, Thai, and Japanese fare. Among the chef specials are a wide range of sushi, mouth-watering Black Cod Miso, and delicious Teriyaki Lamb Chops. Firm favourites also include the 24 karat gold leaf specialities such as Tuna Tartare and Wagyu Tenderloin Steak, all served with beautiful garnishes including edible flowers that tie with the décor. There is a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options and children are always welcome.

It is advisable to book The Pods at least one week in advance as there can be a long waitlist. However, if you take your chances on the day, arrive early, and you can always sit and relax in their impressive terrarium-inspired bar area (transparent flooring displaying lush greenery) until a pod becomes available. Their creative mixes and mocktails are beautifully presented and come accompanied with dry ice, all adding to the spectacle and novel dining experience.

Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and as of July, The Pods will be launching their take on Afternoon Tea, which we can only assume will be just as creative as the rest of the venue.
