Everything you need to know about major road closures in Abu Dhabi this weekend

ADNOC Abu Dhabi marathon will take place across the capital on Saturday.

There’s a lot happening in Abu Dhabi this weekend, including the ADNOC Abu Dhabi marathon. But that also means that some of the major roads across the capital will be blocked to cater to the runners. Worry not, Yalla Abu Dhabi is here to help you out!

In order to inform people of the major road closures in Abu Dhabi, Integrated Transport Centre has released a map along with the respective timings for all blockages happening on 17 December. A total of eight major roads will be shut down across the capital so plan your outings accordingly.

 

From 12am to 9am, the road near Emirates Palace will be closed for traffic.

Corniche Road. will close from 2am until 1pm.

Likewise, Al Bateen Street will not allow vehicle to pass by from 4.30am until 7.30am.

Al Khaleej Al Arabi St. remains closed for traffic between the hours, 5am to 9am.

From 5.45am to 9.30am, the street near Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque will be cordoned off to make way for the runners.

Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed St. will close from 6am to 9.50am, whereas Sultan Bin Zayed The First St. shall remain closed between the hours of 6.10am until 11am.

For the last leg of the marathon, the road will be cordoned off from Higher Colleges of Technology up to Al Hosn between 6.15am to 12pm.

The ADNOC Abu Dhabi marathon is one of the biggest running events in the capital. About 20,000 people are expected to participate in the marathon this weekend which is all set to run across some of the most iconic spots in the city.
