‘Movie Night of Arabia’ features award-winning film by Sheikha Alyazia Bint Nahyan Al Nahyan plus sumptuous spread of Arabic-style food and beverages
Give your family movie nights a cosy twist and head out to Yas Acres Golf & Country Club for an evening of film, food, and fun.
In a one-night only special, Yas Acres Golf & Country Club will host the ‘Movie Night of Arabia’ on 22 April, 6.30pm to 10pm, featuring an award-winning film by Sheikha Alyazia Bint Nahyan Al Nahyan.
Yas Acres has also prepared a sumptuous spread of Arabic-style culinary delights, including fattoush salad, mini Arabic mezze platter, falafel bites, chicken shawarma, lamb kofta wraps, and even the Acres burger, hotdogs, and nachos.
There is also a selection of Arabic beverages such as Pink lady, spring mist, lemon breeze, fantasy, bittersweet, and refreshing smoothies, plus traditional Arabic sweets such as luqaimat and kunafa.
The free-to-attend event will also host various activities for children and adults, including henna painting and Ramadan slime making for kids.
Looking for more foodie options? You can also get a fresh hand-crafted pizza of your choice, including margherita and pepperoni with a glass of refreshing beverage, for AED 79, from 12pm to 10pm, at Roots Restaurant.
The evening’s featured film, Nanny Culture, is officially selected to participate in more than 50 film festivals around the world. It tells the story of an Emirati family in Abu Dhabi that temporarily hires the services of a British nanny to help them organise their six children’s daily activities and study schedules.
This leads to resentment between the nanny and the children, especially after changing their daily routines. The film reveals the details of the relationships and interactions between different cultures in one household.
The film has received various awards, including Best Documentary Feature at the American Movie Awards, Best Documentary and Inspiring Woman in a Film Award at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, and Gold Award for Documentary Feature at the Hollywood Film Competition.
