Abu Dhabi Police launches its ‘Safe Summer’ Campaign’ so your car remains safe
The heat is on and the authorities are rolling out top tips to help you keep your car safe this summer
Abu Dhabi Police have launched their ‘Safe Summer’ awareness campaign, reminding drivers to avoid leaving specific items in cars to prevent fires, especially during the scorching summer months.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr Engineer Adel Naseeb Al-Saqri, Head of the Fire Section at the Forensic Evidence Department, highlighted a crucial point: neglecting safety measures can lead to vehicle fires.
So, what are the six items you should never leave in your car?
- Aerosol cans
- Batteries
- Energy storage devices
- Hand sanitizer
- Perfumes
- Gas cylinders
These items can become ticking time bombs when exposed to sunlight or heat due to their flammable nature.
Remember, vehicles themselves contain flammable materials like fuel, oils, and various internal components, increasing fire risks.
Lieutenant Colonel Al-Saqri emphasised the importance of regular vehicle maintenance by qualified technicians to minimise fire risks.
