The 2023/24 racing season is about to kick off in earnest, and with 15 race meetings at ADEC throughout the season the action promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
On Sunday 3 December, to coincide with National Day celebrations, ADEC will host the Jewel Crown Day which is sure to attract much interest from racing fans. Then, later on in the campaign, the Presidents Cup will also form one of the main highlights.
Every night at ADEC there will be six races per race meeting with the first five races always dictated to the Arabians Horses. The final race is then fought out between a selection of thoroughbreds.
Host for tonight’s event Cathal McHugh was on and to explain the evening’s proceedings: “Tonight starts off the season with two maidens for Arabians, both at 1400 meters, three handicaps, two for Arabians and one for the thoroughbreds. Our big race is race four is the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan jewel crown prep where we have horses declared.
“As usual, a strong renewal with a lot of these having the AED 5 million Jewel Crown race in just over three weeks as the main target. Strong mentions for the Munjeeb, RB Kingmaker, Hanmeem, Barakka and Ajrad Athbah making it a strong field,” added the Irish man.
