All Al Ain workers should stay at home says Government

Access to Jebel Hafit also suspended.

Authorities have urged privately run companies in Al Ain to activate remote working tomorrow (Monday 4 October) due to the ongoing Storm Shaheen.

The plea comes after it was announced that all Government entity and company employees would be working on a remote basis as the weather conditions worsened in the Oasis City and advised residents to not leave their homes unless there is an emergency.

Covid-19 testing and vaccination tents have also been temporarily suspended until further notice with access to tourist attraction, Jebel Hafit, also closed.

Earlier in the day authorities took the decision to close all schools until Wednesday 5 October and ordered construction workers to cease work from 4pm and to secure all sites.

Storm Shaheen hit the UAE this afternoon after causing widespread flooding in Oman.

For emergencies members of the public can call the Emergencies Office on 993 or via WhatsApp on 02 678 8888.
