Attention all football fans, ticket applications for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will open today (19 January).
Yes, there are less than 12 months to go until the biggest jamboree of football kicks off in Al Khor’s Al Bayt Stadium and you have the chance to get in on the action early with the ticket portal for applications opening today.

Visa card holders will be able to apply for tickets by heading to FIFA between now and Tuesday February 8.
In order to get your hands on the golden tickets, you will have to apply to attend games before a random lottery takes place to assign tickets once the application period is over.
If successful, you will then have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Ticket prices have yet to be revealed.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the first time the mega-event has been hosted in the Middle East and only the second ever time it has been held in Asia after the 2002 edition in Japan and South Korea.
But while the first whistle of the tournament doesn’t sound until 21 November 2022, football proceedings much closer to home begin in just over two weeks.
The FIFA Club World Cup 2021 will see the best six continental champions plus local side Al Jazira compete for the Sir Thomas Lipton trophy from 3 to 12 February and the right to call themselves the best club side in the world.
