There will be no quarantine for COVID-19 close contacts in Abu Dhabi.
If you come in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Abu Dhabi you will need to undergo a PCR test for five consecutive days it has been announced.
The new measure approved by The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee (NCEMA) is effective from today (Saturday 26 February).
However the good news is that if you do come into close contact with someone who has contracted the coronavirus, you will not need to undergo quarantine.
The news comes as Abu Dhabi authorities revealed a number of reduced precautionary measures including the removal of a wristband for confirmed COVID-19 cases and the requirement to wear a facemask outside.

Tourist destinations and commercial premises will see capacities increased to 90 per cent but you will still have to present a green pass on your Al Hosn app.
Events will also see there operating capacities increased to 90 per cent but a PCR test as well as green pass on the Al Hosn app is needed for entry.
In terms of travel, the Abu Dhabi green list is no more as well as the removal of PCR testing requirements related to the listed countries and the removal of quarantine for all international arrivals.
The new developments follow the announcement that the border into Abu Dhabi will cease to be in operation.
You will no longer need to present a green pass or undergo an EDE scan when crossing into the emirate.
