Buses and trucks banned from entering Abu Dhabi

Last updated:

The measure is taken keeping New Year celebrations in mind.

UAE is gearing up for the New Year celebrations and so are its residents. But there’s news for those wishing to travel to the capital.

Heavy vehicles and some buses will be banned from entering Abu Dhabi and several bridges on New Year’s Eve.

Due to the celebrations, Abu Dhabi Police have announced restrictions on the movement of trucks, heavy vehicles and buses transporting workers in Abu Dhabi.

This applies to trucks, heavy vehicles and buses wishing to travel on Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Musfah Bridge and Section Bridge.

The restrictions will be in place for 24 hours, running from 7am on Saturday, 31 December 31 until Sunday 1 January 2023.

That being said, logistics and general cleaning company vehicles are exempted from the ban.
