Since its launch in 2022, the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo has seen growing participation with 1,200 cyclists
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council has unveiled plans for the third Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo, scheduled for 16 November 2024.
This premier cycling event features a 150 km route that will start in Abu Dhabi and finish in Al Ain.
With a substantial prize pool of AED 2 million, the Gran Fondo is set to be one of the UAE’s most significant sports events, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for world-class cycling competitions.
Since its launch in 2022, the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo has seen growing participation, with the 2023 edition attracting 1,200 cyclists from 75 nationalities.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, emphasised the event’s role in promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle, as well as its celebration of cycling and community unity.
The event aligns with Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision of becoming a global cycling hub, a goal underscored by the International Cycling Union’s designation of the city as a ‘Bike City’ in 2021.
The Gran Fondo not only highlights cycling as a competitive sport but also as a sustainable mode of transport and a health-promoting activity.
