Abu Dhabi introduces EDE scanners at border

The infection rate in Abu Dhabi is less than one per cent.  

The use of EDE scanners at all entry points into Abu Dhabi will come into place on Sunday 19 December it has been announced.

 

The measures revealed by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee is being used as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19 in the region.

 

 

EDE scanners are currently used going into many places of business in Abu Dhabi to rapidly detect any potential COVID-19 cases without storing personal information.

 

Currently the rate of infection in Abu Dhabi is 0.05 per cent.

 

At the time or writing, 100 per cent of the UAE population has received at least one COVID-19 vaccine with more than 91 per cent being fully vaccinated.

Just over 105 million COVID-19 PCR tests have been conducted with only 2,860 cases still active in the country.

There has been no update on whether a hard border will return to the emirate.
