The dedicated beach is located on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche
There’s a new reason to hit the Corniche – Abu Dhabi has just launched a dedicated beach area for the visually impaired, and it’s a game-changer.
Tucked near Gate 3, this inclusive space spans 1,000 square metres and is packed with thoughtful features that make beach days safe, fun, and accessible for all.
Designed with global accessibility standards in mind (and proudly recognised by the World Disability Union as a Disability-Friendly Beach), this initiative is all about creating a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy the sun, sea and sand.
So, what makes it special?
For starters, you’ll find tactile guidance paths, Braille signage, sound cues, floating wheelchairs, and a supervised swimming zone tailored specifically for visually impaired visitors.

Entry is completely free for visually impaired guests and one companion, which we love.
The beach also comes with a bunch of smart amenities: accessible walkways, restrooms, designated parking, and even free transportation options.
Beach timings
Swimming is allowed from 6am until sunset, but the beach stays open daily until midnight.
Oh, and there’s a licensed nurse on-site during hours too, just in case.
Launched by Abu Dhabi City Municipality and supported by the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, this project is a shining example of what inclusive public spaces should look like.
