If you’re looking for a new sports society that is guaranteed to leave you feeling tee-rrific then look no further than The Bandits Amateur Golf Club who are about go swinging around Abu Dhabi again!

The welcoming society was set up three years ago during the Covid pandemic and has witnessed numbers soar in recent times. They provide an opportunity to golf at all levels, and of course honour the tradition of the 19th hole too!
Ladies make up a large quantity of members and have their own events throughout the year. They cater for all levels and abilities so don’t worry if you are just starting out or want to enjoy the social aspect of it all!
The Bandits have recently launched their new interactive website where members can access event registration. You can also have a look at the society calendar and keep up to date with the leaderboard for all competitions.

They have various competitions throughout the season including a Par-three league of 14 rounds (best eight scores taken) (1st: AED5000 worth of prizes, 2nd: AED3000 worth of prizes; 3rd: Yas Links summer membership), the nine-hole league with six rounds (best four scores taken, prizes for top ten) a Doubles Match-Play competition, and a Top20 league including five events where the top 20 golfers will play off in a final.
There are also a host of other events taking place in their action-packed schedule including four Teachers Team competitions (ADSS CUP) and five Scramble events while committee members are looking to take the Bandits brand worldwide by exploring the possibility of an event abroad at the end of the year.
The Bandits will kick off their proceedings in style on 6 and 7 September when they host the first round of the Par-three league at the Yas Links Golf Course (new members accepted on the night).
The official sign-up night will take place in Cooper’s Bar at the Park Rotana on Sunday 10 September, 12-4pm, and Tuesday 12 September, 6-8pm.

Chairperson Gary Carroll told Yalla he was very looking forward to the oncoming season: “We have seen the society go from strength to strength in recent years and we are excited by welcoming all our members back, some new ones too, in the coming month.”
