How to Make Luqaimat with Head Chef Firas Jawad of Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara, Abu Dhabi

Firas Jawad, Jordanian Head Chef at Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, shows us how to make our favourite Ramadan dessert, luqaimat.

How to Make Luqaimat

Recipe

  • 125g All-purpose flour
  • 6.25g Sugar
  • 2.5g Dry yeast
  • 1.25g Cardamom powder
  • 12.5g Cornflour
  • 1.25g Salt
  • 0.5g Saffron
  • 10ml Corn oil
  • 10ml Evaporated milk
  • 87.5ml Warm water

Method

  • Mix ingredients together in a large mixing bowl
  • Cover and leave for 45 minutes
  • Fry lightly for a few minutes
  • Remove, and fry again until light brown
  • Drain and drizzle with date syrup
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds
