UAE welcomes over-land travellers from Oman

Comes into force 1 September.

Protocols have been put in place to allow travellers to cross from Oman into the UAE by land.

The new rules come into force on 1 September and anybody entering the UAE from Oman via the land border must present a negative PCR test from the previous 48 hours.

A rapid PCR test will also be conducted at the point of entry to the UAE.

The announcement was posted on social media on Monday by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.

Travellers staying for four consecutive days or more in the UAE will need to take a PCR test on day four of entry, in addition to another PCR test on day eight if they stay for eight consecutive days or more.
