The falconry season in Abu Dhabi kicks off from 20 October 2024 and runs until 20 January 2025.
The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) is gearing up to celebrate the rich tradition of falconry, urging licensed hunters to adhere to local regulations.
Falconers with valid licenses can now hunt the captive-bred Houbara bustard, a bird deeply tied to the region’s heritage.
However, strict guidelines must be followed, including hunting only in designated open areas and staying clear of restricted zones such as roads, protected areas, and residential areas.

To join in this iconic sport, aspiring falconers need to secure their falconry licenses through the ‘TAMM’ system, making sure both falcon and hunter are fully compliant with the latest environmental controls.
