And here are all the best places in the UAE to catch a glimpse of it

Get ready, UAE stargazers, because the biggest and brightest supermoon of the year is about to light up the sky!

On Thursday, 17 October the Hunter Supermoon will make its dazzling appearance. And it’s not your average moon; it’s a super-sized lunar spectacle that promises to outshine the rest!

The Hunter Supermoon, named after the traditional hunting season in autumn, won’t look like an actual hunter, but it will be the most stunning full moon of the year.

Why? Because it will be at its closest point to Earth, also known as the perigee, making it appear larger and more luminous than usual.

And don’t forget; this isn’t the final supermoon of the year! Another one is on the horizon for November 15.

So, grab your binoculars and get ready to be moon-struck this month!

For the best view of the Hunter Supermoon in the UAE, head to one of these prime stargazing spots:

Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah

The UAE’s highest mountain offers an unobstructed view of the night sky, away from city lights.
