The UAE has becomes one of six countries to issue UK travel warnings to citizens in light of the situation

With summer in the UAE still blazing strong, getaways have been on everyone’s mind. However in light of recent developments, the UAE has called on its citizens currently in the UK or planning travels to exercise utmost caution.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has further warned UAE citizens against visiting areas witnessing unrest and demonstrations in UK and avoid any large gatherings.

UAE joins Nigeria, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, and India as countries to have all sent out alerts, advising their nationals living in or visiting the UK to stay safe. Recently, Australia too put out safety warnings.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the citizens must also adhere to the warnings and safety instructions issued by the UAE Embassy in London. Citizens were further urged to stay in touch with the UAE Embassy in London, and call the numbers — 097180024 and 0097180044444 — in the event of an emergency, or if they suspect any potential danger while following the social media accounts of the Embassy and the Ministry.

The Ministry underlined the necessity of registering with the “My Twajudi” service for convenient consular services.

In recent times, the UAE had also issued advisories to citizens travelling to Spain, Georgia, Italy, the UK, France, and Austria amid reported thefts during their visits.

Be safe!
