Start planning for the UAE National Day or Union Day long weekend next week, it’s finally confirmed

Time to start planning for the UAE National Day celebrations, and now we have another reason to.

The UAE government has finally announced the complete set of holidays for the upcoming 52nd Union Day or National Day for the private sector.

Earlier this week, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) had announced a two-day paid break for the private sector – namely on 2 and 3 December. As they fell on the Saturday-Sunday break, it was not a long weekend for most.

However, the new announcement declares 4 December off as well. Combined with the UAE National Day holidays, residents now get a three-day break at last!

The rules are a little different for public sector employees, who can avail of a work-from-home on 1 December, Friday, and get an official leave on 4 December, Monday as well.

In either case, time to take advantage of the great weather and spend some quality time with your loved ones. There’s plenty to be done across the country, with the UAE capital pulling out all the stops from spectacular fireworks to concerts, exhibitions and plenty of other things to do!
