Weather throughout the night turned treacherous with heavy rain fall, thunder and lightning reported in many parts of the UAE, including Abu Dhabi.
Motorists have been warned by Police to be vigilant on the roads throughout the Emirates during Friday and over the weekend as according to a yellow and orange weather alert issued by the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology more rain is forecasted.

Thunder and lightning were detected in the early hours of the morning, but the city was business as usual this morning for people making their commute to work places around the capital.
