Abu Dhabi Police win individual and team competitions at Royal Windsor Horse Show

Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, honours Abu Dhabi Police Cavalry team

The Abu Dhabi Police Cavalry team galloped away with a clean sweep of the top awards at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in the UK, and their performance was recognised no less by Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, who honoured the team for their outstanding achievements.

With events such as the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Festival, the UAE capital has a long tradition of cultivating world-class riders, and Abu Dhabi’s elite athletes certainly did not disappoint this time by winning first place in both the individual and team events.

Held in Home Park on the private grounds of Windsor Castle, this year’s edition saw the Abu Dhabi team outclass a field of 29 international police teams over five days of competition, so it’s truly an impressive achievement.

The annual equestrian event tests the fitness and preparedness level of the different teams and individual participants. It attracts equine enthusiasts from around the world, including the British royal family and celebrities.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show has been a staple of the international horse show calendar since 1927, featuring a diverse range of events, including show jumping, dressage, carriage driving and endurance riding.
