Learn how new technologies such as remotely piloted drones have become necessary for falcon training

Time to get your boots and gear ready for the 20th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), which will run from 23-29 August at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Raising awareness about the value of falconry as a shared human heritage has always been one of the main highlights of the event since its first edition, and this year is no different.

The last edition saw record-breaking participation of more than 60 falconry exhibitors, showcasing various traditional and technical falconry tools and equipment, as well as products from captive falcon breeding farms.

This year ADIHEX expects another strong presence from specialists in breeding, training, and taking care of falcons, as well as manufacturers and innovators of falconry tools and supplies from around the world.

ADIHEX is already recognised as a key event among falconry enthusiasts in the Middle East and Africa, strengthening the UAE’s reputation as a global leader in developing and preserving the sport.

In Abu Dhabi, while it has been a favourite sport among Emiratis, falconry is also growing in popularity among other nationalities.

Further underlining the increasing number of falconry enthusiasts worldwide, falconry is among the events to be contested at the prestigious Masters Games Series, which Abu Dhabi will host in 2026, featuring up to 10,000 athletes from 100 countries.

ADIHEX will feature some of the latest technologies developed for the sport of falconry, including customised drones. Remotely piloted drones have become a necessary equipment for training falcons in recent years, helping improve their speed and ability to catch prey.
