Fourth edition of the Ramadan Spiritual Music Series features two digital releases by the sheikh of Egyptian singers
Transport yourself to a world of spiritual harmony as the Ramadan Spiritual Music Series makes its return at this year’s Abu Dhabi Festival.
The series is part of several events marking the festival’s 20-year anniversary, bringing together a collection of established and emerging artists from around the world.
This year’s fourth edition of the Ramadan Spiritual Music Series features two digital releases by Sheikh Mahmoud El-Tohamy, the renowned spiritual chanter regarded as the sheikh of Egyptian singers.
El-Tohamy’s Hymn of Passion and The Carpenter’s Daughters will be available on the festival’s YouTube channel on 7 and 11 April respectively, at 10pm.

El-Tohamy, who has a long-standing history of collaborating with the Abu Dhabi Festival, is known for his ability to combine chanting in classical Arabic with multiple musical cultures, while maintaining its traditional character.
Blending authentic Arabic poetry with modern styles and incorporating Arabic and international music, El-Tohamy’s Hymn of Passion showcases the beauty of spiritual music and the Arabic language, featuring talented artists such as Hani Shenouda, Sheikh Abdel Rahim Dowidar, Mahmoud Helal, Georgina Helmy, and 30 musicians.
The Carpenter’s Daughters comprises several famous poems in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, from Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, and the countries of the Maghreb.
